Hi, My husband's Windows XP computer stopped working and his Lexmark x 2400 worked great with this computer. I gave him a Windows 7 laptop to use and I cannot get this printer to work with that computer. I have been searching the internet for a printer driver but am unsuccessful. I would appreciate any help you can find so I can load this old printer to the Windows 7 computer. I really do not want to buy a new printer for him as he is in a nursing home and now it is hard for him to adjust to the new electronic devices. Any help you can provide will be appreciated. OK, I tried ad tried to install and run this new driver that was recommended. I finally gave up. I deleted everything that had to do with the old drivers that came with the x 2400 CD and installed and ran the new drivers. It got hung up several times. It would tell me to put in the USB connection and when I did, I could not continue. It seemed the install package got hung up. It also was installing it for the Z 2400, not the x 2400. Maybe this was the difference. In any case, I'm going to try to buy Paul a inexpensive printer for the Windows 7 laptop and I'm sure a new printer should be capable with the 7 computer. Thank you anyway for all your help. Thanks for really trying to help me. This printer was free when my son bought a new computer. He gave it to us because he didn't need another printer. But, I'm sure it is a scaled down model but it did the job for my husband when he had his Windows XP computer. But when his XP computer crashed, I brought him my laptop which is running Windows XP and that is where the trouble started.
